Our rights. Our future
The Council on the Ageing (COTA) NSW is the peak organisation for people over 50 in our state.
We’re an independent, consumer-based non-government organisation. We work with politicians, policy makers, service providers and the media to ensure the views of older people are heard and acted on.
Committed to achieving a society where older people are respected, consulted, included, represented and heard
COTA NSW has long had a clear vision of the sort of society we want to bring into being.
We’re committed to achieving a society where older people are respected, consulted, included, represented and heard.
We are determined that their contributions are valued and that they have access to the opportunities other members of the community take for granted.
Working with our community, allied organisations, government partners and the media
While equity is a critical aspect of our agenda, we understand that achieving it is often a matter of ensuring that the specific needs of our constituents are met.
Working with our community, allied organisations, government partners and the media, we ensure the interests and concerns of people over 50 are a priority for those who develop policies, deliver services and shape attitudes.
