Older people will never again constitute a small proportion of the population. Understanding older people – their views, their experiences, their problems and their aspirations – is vital for any
business, policy maker, service provider or community organisation who wants to interact with them.
This report reveals a number of factors which influence successful ageing, including living situation, employment status, income, age discrimination, health, fitness, activity, lifestyle and diet, independence, engaging with community, friends and family and access to health services.
It also looks at what could be done to improve access to health services and their view and experience of palliative care.
