A new project from COTA NSW will enable more older people to get out in the fresh air, even if they are no longer able to ride a bicycle, or never could ride one.
Cycling Without Age is a global movement using specially designed trishaws ridden by volunteer cyclists to enable older people to connect with the community. With some funding from the NSW government’s Liveable Communities Program, COTA NSW is trialling a Cycling Without Age project in Parramatta. We will then expand to other parts of NSW.
COTA NSW is seeking sponsors for the trishaws, as well as partner organisations to store and maintain them. We will work with local aged care services to provide passengers through their recreation programs, and with cycling groups to provide trishaw pilots.
