Each year COTA NSW conducts a consumer survey of people aged 50 years and over living in NSW, seeking their views about a range of issues that affect their lives.
Our annual COTA NSW 50+ Report collates the findings from this survey, allowing decision makers to better understand the experiences of over 50s in NSW.
Alarmingly, the demographic components of this year’s 50+ Report again show that older women are
experiencing lower levels of financial security than men.
The report found not only that women were retiring later and with less financial security than their male counterparts, but that more than 25% of our female respondents
reported a household income that approached the poverty line. This is compared to 16% of men.
