Powers of Attorney - Choose who manages your finances when you can't?
This presentation will highlight the issues surrounding the appointment of a substitute decision maker for the purpose of making financial decisions for us – when we either cannot, or chose not, to make these decisions ourselves.
There is no law that states we must appoint an attorney. However, there are laws that dictate what will happen if we lose mental capacity and have not already exercised our right to appoint a substitute decision maker.
Participants in this seminar will discover the importance of giving sufficient thought to the process of appointing an attorney. Participants will be linked with relevant tools and options for implementing planning ahead tools.
