COTA NSW's vision is for a just, equitable and humane society where all older people live with dignity.
COTA NSW's mission is to be the leading voice in NSW that advances the interests of people as they age.
We value all people in our diverse community.
We act with courage, honesty and truthfulness in our words and actions.
We are committed to the right of all people to be treated in a just, fair and impartial manner.
We maintain the highest standards of professionalism and personal responsibility.
The Council on the Ageing NSW (COTA NSW) is the peak organisation for people over 50 in our state. We’re an independent, consumer-based non-government organisation. We work with politicians, policy makers, and service providers as well as media representatives to make sure your views are heard and your needs are met.
COTA NSW has long had a clear vision of the sort of society we want to bring into being. We’re committed to achieving a society where older people are respected, consulted, included, represented and heard. We are determined that their contributions are valued and that they have access to the opportunities other members of the community take for granted.
While equity is a critical aspect of our agenda, we understand that achieving it is often a matter of ensuring that the specific needs of our constituents are met. Working with our community, allied organisations, government partners and the media, we ensure the interests and concerns of people over 50 are a priority for those who develop policies, deliver services and shape attitudes.
